The Untold Stories Project

What's YOUR Story?

Do you know a woman in planning whose story needs to be told? The Women & Planning Division's Untold Stories Project is dedicated to elevating and celebrating the voices of women who have contributed to the planning profession.

Supported by an APA Division's Council Product Development Grant, the Untold Stories Project will create and maintain a digital, searchable archive of as yet untold and unknown stories of women in the planning practice. The archive will memorialize, catalogue, and share stories of leadership, mentorship, teaching, creativity, and contributions to the planning profession.

Women or their representatives will be able to submit their stories to the archive by answering a series of questions in a digital form. Responses will be transformed into easy-to-read, dynamic snapshots highlighting the submitter's personal and professional accomplishments and contributions to planning.

The Untold Stories Project digital archive will be meta coded so that users can search for stories by:

1) Topic or career focus.

2) Geographic location.

3) Demographic information.

The Untold Stories Project questionnaire will go live in May 2024. We look forward to documenting and celebrating YOUR story!
