About this Award:
This funding award has been made possible by the contributions of three outstanding Women & Planning Division leaders, role models, and tireless advocates for women in the planning profession.
Corrin Wendell, AICP is the Founder and Executive Director of Youth Engagement Planning (YEP!) and Community Development Director for the City of Little Canada in Minnesota. Corrin's passion for nurturing current and future planners, and her commitment to enhancing the planning profession, were cultivated over a 20-year career spanning diverse planning disciplines. Corrin holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master’s of City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University. Since 2006, YEP! has focused on educating young people in grades K-12 by introducing them to urban planning and civic engagement and creating opportunities for youth to have meaningful participation in advocating for change in their communities and the built environment. Corrin is also an active and engaged member of the American Planning Association holding numerous national-level leadership positions currently serving as Immediate Past Chair of the APA Women & Planning Division and AICP-certified since 2010. She is the recipient of the APA Minnesota Chapter Planner of the Year Award, APA Women & Planning Division Excellence in Leadership Award, and the Divisions Council Educational Excellence Achievement Award.
Breanne Rothstein, AICP has a distinct passion for communities and strives to help them be welcoming places through meaningful, inclusive community partnerships. She offers over 20 years of experience of community development and organizational development in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Breanne is founder and CEO of Thrive Consulting, a firm that seeks to create economic and housing justice through policy and programs in local government. She has presented on over 40 panels, sessions, and workshops, most recently sharing the effective and powerful economic inclusion policy change in Brooklyn Park, which is having a profound impact on the community. Breanne has been involved in the American Planning Association as a volunteer for over 15 years, including serving on national executive committees for the Women and Planning Division and Chapter Presidents Council. She has been instrumental in driving policy change at APA towards inclusion and equity outcomes.
Caroline Dwyer, AICP holds a Master’s Degree in City & Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is the Transit Planning Manager for Chapel Hill Transit, the second largest transit system in North Carolina. She has over nine years of diverse public and private experience in transportation and land use planning practice, covering all aspects of integrated, sustainable, and resilient urban planning, with a special interest in supporting efficient, useful, and equitable public transportation. Caroline is frequently recognized for leading high-functioning teams, cultivating relationships with stakeholders and decision makers, and successfully executing complex projects. Caroline also serves as the Chair of the American Planning Association’s (APA) Women & Planning Division and the Vice-Chair of APA’s Divisions Council Equity, Diversity, and Inclusiveness (EDI) Committee. Caroline enjoys knitting, podcasts, coffee, and spending time with her family.
