Rising Star Award
Recognizing Outstanding Student Accomplishments
The Women & Planning Division is proud to recognize the next generation of women in planning through our Rising Star Student Award. This program honors one exceptional student member who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement, community engagement, and a strong commitment to advancing women in the planning profession. The selected recipient will receive a $1,000 unrestricted award to use however they see fit—whether for tuition, living expenses, travel, or savings. Following the award cycle, the recipient will be asked to submit a brief written statement or short video testimonial about their planning journey to be featured on the WPD website.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a current student member in good standing of the American Planning Association (APA) and the Women & Planning Division.
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in urban planning or a closely related field.
- Previous recipients of this specific award are ineligible to apply.
