This grant provides funding to help WPD members attend APA’s National Planning Conference 2024 (NPC24), furthering their continuing education and supporting members’ continued contributions to the planning profession.

WPD will review grant applications received by March 6, 2024. Applicants must be current members of the Women & Planning Division for their application to be considered.

FUNDING AVAILABLE

The Women & Planning Division has budgeted $2,000 for this grant. The number of grants awarded will be based on the number and type of applications and funding requests received.

TIMELINE

The application period is from February 13 – March 6, 2024.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

Complete the online form by the application deadline (March 6, 2024) to be considered for the Professional Contribution Grant. Applicants will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Name and preferred pronouns
  • Contact information
  • Confirmation of WPD membership
  • Confirmation that applicant is a student, unemployed, and/or that applicant’s employer does not provide funding to attend NPC24.
  • A brief description (200 words or less) of why you want to attend NPC24.
  • A brief description (200 words or less) of the ways that attending NPC24 supports your
  • The conference experience they wish to attend (“all in” or online only)
  • Applicant’s NCP24 registration tier
  • Eligibility for presenter/ facilitator discount
  • Any other information the applicant would like us to know.

POST GRANT SUBMISSION FOR RECIPIENTS

Successful grant recipients will submit by email a summary of their conference experience within 90 days after the conference describing the impact of the award on their professional development. Grant recipients may be asked to share their experience at a future Women & Planning webinar or networking event.
