You are invited to the Second Annual Multidivision Reception at NPC25! Join us as we honor this year’s theme, Woven Together, a celebration of our diversity and the bonds forged by our Divisions.
Featuring:
- A meet and greet with Corrin Wendell, AICP, author of Ava Tanner the City Planner.
- Speakers, including APA and AICP national leadership.
- Special guests representing the Colorado Native Organization (CNO) including a land acknowledgement offered by Culture Consultant Kieth TallBull, welcoming us to Cheyenne, Ute and Arapaho territory; a Northern Plains Traditional Dance demonstration presented by Nick Ohitika Najin, and a Lakota invocation sung by Jayson Ferris HighWalking. Tickets include one cocktail (or mocktail), appetizers, and dessert and a free copy of Ava Tanner the City Planner, courtesy of the Women & Planning Division (while supplies last)! Books can be picked up at the reception OR you can choose to donate a book to a local library or school!

The Colorado Native Organization (CNO)
About us: The Colorado Native Organization is an arts and culture nonprofit dedicated to cultural revitalization. Our Programs are rooted in preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of various Native Tribes by providing transformative learning experiences that honor traditional practices and encourage the next generation of artists and cultural stewards.
Mission: The Mission of CNO is to revitalize culture by providing free arts, outdoor and cultural education to Native youth, families and elders.
The Colorado Native Organization (CNO) is honored to join APA's Divisions at their NPC25 Multidivision Reception.
Culture Consultant Kieth TallBull is a direct descendant of Cheyenne Chief TallBull who was killed at the massacre at Fort Sumner and serves as a Steward at TallBull Memorial Grounds in Daniels Park. Kieth will be offering a land acknowledgement welcoming everyone to Cheyenne, Ute and Arapaho territory.
Nick Ohitika Najin is Mni Coujou Lakota from Cheyenne River and a 7 year Army Combat Veteran. Nick is the Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber of Commerce and will give a dance demonstration of the Northern Plains Traditional Dance.
Jayson Ferris HighWalking (Shoshone, Northern Cheyenne and Lakota) is a local Native entrepreneur and Culture Consultant for CNO. Jayson will be singing a Lakota invocation song for the conference.
